Overview:

The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) will lead the nursing department at Larkin Community Hospital Behavioral Health Campus. The CNO will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality patient care, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering a culture of excellence and compassion within the nursing team. The CNO will play a critical role in strategic planning, staff development, and the integration of best practices in behavioral health nursing.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership and Management:

Provide strategic direction and leadership for the nursing department, ensuring alignment with the overall mission and goals of the campus.

Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of nursing staff, including performance evaluations and professional growth opportunities.

Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment, encouraging teamwork and effective communication among nursing staff and other healthcare professionals.

2. Clinical Oversight:

Ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to patients, in line with best practices and regulatory requirements.

Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing policies, procedures, and protocols to enhance patient care and safety.

Monitor patient outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives to address areas for improvement.

3. Regulatory Compliance:

Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and accreditation standards, including those related to behavioral health services.

Stay current with changes in healthcare regulations and incorporate them into nursing practices and policies.

4. Strategic Planning:

Contribute to the development and execution of the campus’s strategic plan, with a focus on nursing services and patient care.

Analyze data and trends to inform decision-making and drive improvements in nursing practice and patient outcomes.

5. Collaboration and Communication:

Collaborate with other senior leaders and departments to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients.

Communicate effectively with patients, families, and staff to address concerns, provide information, and foster a positive care experience.

6. Resource Management:

Oversee the allocation of nursing resources, including staffing levels, budgets, and equipment, to ensure efficient and effective operations.

Manage nursing budgets and financial performance, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.

Qualifications:

Education: Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field required.

Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive nursing leadership experience, with at least 3-5 years in a senior management role within a behavioral health or similar healthcare setting.

Licensure: Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license required. Additional certifications in behavioral health nursing or related fields preferred.

Skills:

Strong leadership and management abilities, with a demonstrated track record of successfully leading nursing teams.

In-depth knowledge of behavioral health practices, patient care standards, and regulatory requirements.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions to improve patient care and operational efficiency.

Working Conditions:

Full-time, on-site position with occasional evening and weekend work as required.

The role may involve exposure to a variety of behavioral health conditions and patient interactions.
