About The Meadows

The Meadows Psychiatric Center, a 119-bed private behavioral health care facility on a spacious 52-acre rural campus, is located minutes outside State College in Central Pennsylvania. As an integrated behavioral health care delivery system, The Meadows provides comprehensive mental and behavioral health treatment services to children, adolescents, adults, and older adults.

The Chief Nursing Officer

is a key member of the Meadows Senior Leadership Team who will integrate and coordinate a patient-centric nursing strategy with a keen focus on patient care; ensuring that delivery of high-quality and cost-effective health care is consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Universal Health Services and in accordance with government regulation, licensing and accreditation requirements. The CNO participates in the hospital’s strategic planning and contributes to the achievement of institutional goals and objectives. The Chief Nursing Officer will focus on 5 key areas: People, Service, Quality, Growth, and Finance.

Job Requirements:

Licensure: Current license to practice professional nursing in Pennsylvania.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing from a CCNE accredited nursing program required; Master of Science in Nursing strongly preferred.

Must have a minimum of 4 years nursing and supervisory/administrative experience.

Must be familiar with The Joint Commission and other regulatory parties.

Must be able to work flexible hours as necessary to perform assigned duties and maintain required communication with patients experiencing extreme psychiatric disorders and their families and agencies.

Demonstrated working knowledge of behavioral health nursing clinical practices and management.

Demonstrated knowledge of effective management and supervisory practices. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to plan, direct, and monitor others’ activities with demonstrated leadership abilities that contribute to a positive work environment.
