Job Summary/Basic Function
This position will provide administrative support to the Masters of Social Work program, reporting to the program director and department chair. Budget duties include reconciliation of P-card transactions, financial management relating to requisitions, budget reallocations, E-pars, and funds transfers. Assists with admissions, registration, and student inquiries. Helps to run meetings and events, compiles reports, maintains files and records, and provides other departmental support to co-curricular and master's program. Will also work closely with bachelor's program admin on department and program needs.

High school diploma or equivalentThree years secretarial, administrative and/or office manager experience.Must have experience and proficiency in PC applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, database.Preferred Qualifications

As the Administrative Specialist, you will be writing letters to potential students who are admitted and denied acceptance to or placed on the waitlist of the master's program. Please write each of the following letters and upload them in the designated area of your application. These should be professionally written.
Letter 1 - Acceptance:
thank them for applying to our program, let them know how competitive the application process was, and congratulate them on being one of the applicants receiving an offer of acceptance. You will also provide details as to next steps, important dates to remember, provide an advisor with whom to connect, give them information on registering for classes, and attending a practicum fair for field placement. Provide them with contact information of the program director in the event they have questions/concerns not addressed in their letter.
Letter 2 - Denied:
thank them for applying to our program and let them know how competitive the application process was. Explain that while they did not receive an offer of acceptance, it does not mean they were not an exceptional applicant, but we have limited open positions to fill with a larger pool from which to select. Direct them to the MSW program director for additional details on how they might improve their application in the future.
Letter 3 - Waitlisted:
thank them for applying to the program, let them know how competitive the application process was, and although they may have scored high by the committee, we are limited on the number of open positions to fill. Let them know that on occasion applicants who are offered a position may not accept it. When that happens, we review the waitlist and will send an offer to the first person on the list until all positions are filled. You may also let them know that this sometimes takes months to complete, but that they are welcome to contact either you, the Administrative Specialist, or the Program Director for additional information.
For qualification determination, your application and/or resume must address the required and preferred qualifications and must contain average number of hours worked per week and the dates of employment (i.e., month/year to month/year or month/year to present). If your resume does not contain this information, your application may be considered incomplete.
