Job Summary

Dr. Purpura is seeking to hire 6-10 research assistants to support field investigations across on a study focused on examining early care and education quality. Research assistants will work directly with study subjects on recruitment and data collection, including conducting observational assessments within early education classrooms, administering standardized measures one-on-one with young children, and distributing surveys to parents and teachers. Research assistants may also prepare and enter complex quantitative and qualitative data and manage multiple tracking systems for progress monitoring. They must be able to work independently, possess strong verbal and written communication skills, and follow lab protocols and ethical procedures for working with human subjects. Researcher assistants must have access to a personal vehicle that they can use to drive up to 2 hours in each direction for data collection. It is preferred that the research assistants are based near Purdue's campus in Lafayette or West Lafayette, which will serve as the hub for data collection and project meetings.

Part-time, hourly employment.Flexible work schedules typically between 7 am and 6 pm on weekdays.Expected commitment of 10-30 hours per week.Employment duration of one year.Compensation of $20 per hour (benefits not included).Reimbursement of personal vehicle mileage.Requirements

Must adhere strictly to lab protocols and ethical guidelines governing research with human subjects.Candidates should ideally be available to start by September 1 or sooner.Location requirement: Candidates must reside in or near Lafayette/West Lafayette for prompt reporting to Purdue University West Lafaayette's campus post-data collection.Access to a personal vehicle for travel to various data collection sites is essential.Please submit your resume/CV and a cover letter detailing your interest and relevant experience.

Education

A bachelor's degree in child development, early childhood education, psychology, or a related fieldExperience
