The hotel is also located next to the International Market Place-- a dining and shopping destination in the heart of Honolulu featuring 75 retail shops and outdoor seating at seven signature restaurants.Overview:The Hotel Manager is responsible for continually focusing on achieving hotel profitability through revenue generation, cost control, guest satisfaction, and developing employee training and engagement, while maintaining the integrity of the hotel.Responsibilities:Participate in hotel sales efforts, including calling on top ten accounts, meeting clients, hosting luncheons and receptions, and meeting with on-site contacts.Tour the operating departments daily, ensuring smooth operation and staffing in all areas.Conduct weekly staff meetings, including training sessions and review of sales and operations efforts.Conduct weekly one-on-one meetings with all operational department heads.Attend operational line-ups at least once a week.Meet all financial review dates and corporate directed programs.Hold a monthly financial review with all department managers.Ensure all department heads maintain budgeted productivity levels.Develop managers for future advancement through training programs.Participate in required M.O.D. coverage as scheduled.Maintain and monitor the effectiveness of the Lobby Ambassador program.Ensure compliance with Highgate Hotel policies and procedures.Oversee the Highgate Hotel's budget and monthly forecast processes.Ensure that training in service standards is taking place in each department.Ensure that all operational departments follow PCI compliance protocol.Assist in creating a positive team-oriented environment.Inspect rooms regularly with department heads.Ensure complete processing of invoices daily.Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the physical property.Ensure employees are attentive, friendly, courteous, and efficient in their interactions.Prepare and conduct all operational management interviews.Perform all department manager performance appraisals.Motivate, coach, counsel, and discipline all management personnel.Perform any other duties as requested by management.Meet clients on the property to assist in the sales effort.Be in public areas during peak times, greeting guests.Ensure procedures for hotel safe handling are followed.Conduct monthly credit meetings and take an active role in hotel credit policies.Complete required corporate training modules.Ensure that all scheduled meetings take place on the property.In conjunction with the Director of Sales, conduct daily WBR meetings.Qualifications:At least 6 years progressive experience in a hotel or related field.Bachelor's Degree preferred.Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and guests.Must be effective at listening to and clarifying concerns.Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions.Must maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming.Must be effective in handling problems and maintaining confidentiality.Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally.Salary Range: $100K - $110K
