Overview:
The IT Analyst role will provide a wide range of support and customer service on various hardware and software issues in a chemical manufacturing environment.Support client computer user productivity and environment, focusing on resolution of computer software and hardware problems.Responsibilities:Ability to work in a chemical manufacturing facility and maintain a safety-first mentality on every task. Strong knowledge and support of PC hardware and software while maintaining SLAsGeneral Local User Support
Basic PC/Laptop and network troubleshooting and repairPeripheral support to include printers, faxes, projectors, etc.PC/Laptop and peripheral setup and upgrades, as directedApplication support and installationLog all calls and actions taken
General IT Shop Support
Maintain PC inventories and pertinent data (spreadsheet with description/user/location). Keep the IT environments clean and well-managedImage or configure PCs, perform PC imaging or reloading, as neededEvaluate existing systemsvirus and security updates are current
check the overall health of the systemreview installed software for health, relevance, need and licensing
Store and recycle old equipmentBackup Monitoring and tape exchange, as directed
Provide alternate IT support for all issues when the IT Generalist is unavailable.
Be prepared to be on call and to work with technical support from corporate or elsewhereBe prepared to travel to Port Arthur or to Houston Sales Office (The Woodlands)
Ad hoc assignments such as office relocations, reports, file, and data support.Support the IT security policies, processes, and procedures to comply with mandates, including Sarbanes Oxley, HSES requirements, etc.Develop and maintain a positive relationship with customers, peers, and managementOther duties as assigned; this may include:
Assisting with DCS (Control Systems) documentation and support
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE MINIMUMS:1 2+ years experience in a helpdesk or IT support environmentMicrosoft Certified ProfessionalEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:Associates Degree in IT
