SCHOOL NURSE
QUALIFICATIONS: Registered Nurse. Must hold valid Alabama Nursing License as a Registered Nurse. BLS for Healthcare Providers. Maintain a current CPR certification. Must hold valid Alabama Driving License. Must meet background clearance requirements as specified by Alabama Statutes and State Board of Education regulations. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide health appraisals in the areas of vision, dental, communicable diseases, and gross physical defects. Follow-up on health appraisal programs which include pre-school health screening program, student immunization program, and appropriate parental contact. Make appropriate referrals for evaluation and treatment of student health problems. Provide first-aid assistance upon the request of the principal. Organize student health services with other agencies. Maintain adequate student health records. Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent for Administration.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force as needed to move objects.
