Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Records test data, production, quality, and time records also applies statistical quality control procedures.

Measures parts for conformity with specifications. (Indicators; micrometers; calipers)

Have some knowledge of CMM operation.

Follow all safety and housekeeping rules, policies, and procedures.

Work from written and verbal instructions

Develop gauging set-ups for production and inspection gauging. Review master gauge requisition by Production Department personnel against drawings before issuing masters. (Check precision gauge blocks from master sets.)

Must have some knowledge of Gauge Dimensioning and Tolerance (Roundness, Parallelism, Perpendicularity, Squareness, Surface finish, etc.)

Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics.

Issue and maintain serial numbers for both components and Finished Goods.

Tag work where necessary.

Visually inspect parts for various issues, including rust, no oil, no hole, chipped, etc.

Perform daily inspections on equipment, first piece inspection from outside vendors, new or unusual samples or bearings from RBC or other manufactures as appropriate

Scale samples of purchased parts and of manufactured parts and compare against drawings to verify part identification for manufacturing personnel.

Make minor repairs and adjustments on measuring equipment such as adjusting micrometers and calipers, and replacing screws on micrometers, dial indicators, shafts, etc. Re-mark fixed gauges that have changed dimensionally. Advise when to send equipment outside for repairs and make recommendations for replacement or for additional measuring equipment.

Work with machine operators as partners to ensure quality parts. Assist in training new employees in quality concepts and proper use of precision measuring equipment.
