DESCRIPTION OF WORK This position is responsible for overseeing and controlling volunteer services and donations at GMVC. Duties include planning, coordinating, and ensuring the effective operations of volunteer services; recruiting, interviewing, and selecting volunteers; and assisting with or coordinating activities, services, and events that volunteers sponsor. You also provide expertise and assistance to staff supervising the volunteers to assure that assignments are understood and coordinated in a manner to achieve the desired results. In addition, you encourage, accept, log, and process donations received and ensure that thank you letters are prepared and sent.
Other duties include conveying to department heads and staff the concept and potential for use of volunteers and identify the needs of each department for volunteer positions. In addition, you communicate with and act as liaison for service organizations, civic groups, and community leaders regarding the needs of the facility relative to volunteer personnel through speaking engagements, meetings, written, and verbal communication.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Days and times may vary, including flexing time, to accommodate scheduled activities and events during regular business hours, weekends, and holidays.

One year of experience directing or coordinating the activities of volunteers, and a bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, public relations, social work, or a related field;or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Other Requirements:

You must pass a background investigation. A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination. This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
