GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The candidate will work closely with the operations department to ensure all products being manufactured will meet customer expectations and all customer requirements. The candidate will be responsible for inspecting products and materials to ensure they are free from defects or deviations from customer specifications.
RESPONSIBILITIES
AccountabilityEnsure all quality documentation is filled out as requiredConduct and document quality inspections of in-process and finished goods to ensure quality conforms to specified requirements (dimensionally, visually, in-process, etc.)Ensure parts are being manufactured in accordance with the company's Quality Management SystemProvide immediate feedback on Quality of parts to QC Manager and OperationsEnsure all parts are inspected, documented, and put in the proper location in a timely mannerEnsure calibrations are completed on time and documentedInitiate and follow up of Nonconformances as requiredReport all unusual conditions or results, unsafe conditions, broken or out of calibration equipment, procedures not in effect to Quality ManagementMaintain a clean work environment to eliminate potential product contaminationAbility to implement and follow inspection processesSuggest improvements in workflow and equipment to make inspection more efficient and effectiveAdept at using inspection & test equipment, calipers, optical microscopes, micrometers, pin gauges, etc.Verification of operator in-process checks
QUALIFICATIONSStrong technical and analytical skillsComputer skillsAbility to read and understand basic mechanical drawingsBasic knowledge of measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, comparator, etc.)Basic understanding of Manufacturing Processes (milling, turning, EDM, injection molding, paint, etc.)Strong written and verbal communication skillsStrong attention to detailPositive attitudeOTHER REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge of ISO Standards or willingness and/or ability to learnAt least 1 year of manufacturing or quality control experience or a degree in related fieldKnowledge of manufacturing and quality principlesAbility to work independently without direct supervisionKEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)
