The Institutional Data Reporting Analyst plays a critical role for the University by collecting, researching, analyzing, and reporting institutional data and supports the daily operation of the office. This position coordinates data-gathering activities for day-to-day data report requests for all areas of the university and ensures accurate and timely data reporting to state and federal agencies, internal units, and external organizations.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Researches, collects, cleans, stores, analyzes, and visualizes institutional data using various software and (student records, financial reports, and survey responses)

Assists in the maintenance of appropriate documentation such as data sources, file locations, query logic/methodology, tools, and issue/problem resolutions. Ensures consistency and accuracy of stored, analyzed and disseminated data

Coordinates with internal and external constituencies, using large data sets to perform analysis for the completion of ad hoc data requests

Develops and produces regular (monthly, quarterly) and ad hoc reports for internal and external stakeholders, while ensuring data and reporting processes comply with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements, including SACSCOC, IPEDS, and other relevant bodies

Analyzes, reports, and presents data extracted and synthesized from a variety of complex internal and external data sources as needed for planning across the institution

Assists with major projects of the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, Research, and Planning to include accreditation and strategic initiatives

Writes reports, oversees college data compilation projects, distribution of surveys to internal and external customers, reviews higher education trends, and confers with supervisor regarding standards and procedures

Assists with annual market reports and surveys such as US News & World Report; internal reports (University Profile and Common)

Provides technical assistance, programming, and reporting services of data and Data Set; materials requested by accrediting bodies; and data exchanges

Creates statistical and analytical reports, dashboards, and data visualizations as needed for improved data-informed decision-making and planning across the institution

Assists departments and non-academic offices with their assessment activities. Provides support for the assessment of academic programs, including providing the required data for academic program reviews.

Utilizes SQL, Power BI/Power Query, Excel, and other related software and programming to develop, maintain, and update basic queries and reports against the institution's internal data

Collaboratively manages all department finances with leadership, including the budget, check requests, travel expense and reimbursement requests, credit card statements, inventory, purchasing resources, and other financial matters; maintains the annual financial asset inventory log

Supports the functions of the office as required (scheduling, planning, and coordinating events, meetings, office activities calendar scheduling, responding via phone and email, etc.) ensuring customers are guided to the right resources timely; may coordinate activities with other offices and departments

Prepares and processes a wide variety of documents and materials for documentation and or disseminating information

Supervises, trains, and coaches student staff employees

Maintains office web page, update forms, handles equipment maintenance incidents, orders supplies, prepares invoices for approval, coordinates mail and distributes; maintains department office filing system as per University retention policies

Serves as an institutional data and information resource point of contact for various campus initiatives, projects, and committees to support a data-informed approach to planning, evaluation, and decision-making

Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate degree from an accredited college in computer science, data analytics, statistics, or Professional Data Analytics Certification

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred (computer science, economics, mathematics, statistics, information science, business analytics or related field)

An equivalent combination of education and work-related experience will be considered

Experience with or a strong aptitude for utilizing relational database technology, SQL queries, technological intuitiveness, database management and reporting tools are highly encouraged to apply

2 or more years of data analytics experience preferred, such as querying databases, conducting analysis in Excel or Power BI, and preparing visualizations, preferably within a higher education setting.

Must clear and maintain a favorable background investigation and clearance

Must have valid driver's license, motor vehicle liability insurance and personal injury insurance; or have a self-reliant source of transportation to conduct business on a daily basis

Must have ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and provide input in a team environment

Must have the ability to demonstrate intermediate to high skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook and PowerPoint) including experience with virtual platforms such as Zoom. strong Excel experience (VLOOKUPs, conditional formatting, etc.) highly desirable

Must have a high ethical standard and a strong sense of confidentiality. Demonstrated experience maintaining confidentiality of data and records is preferable

Must have ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing and establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, employees, and the public; ability to work effectively with communities across the university and the commitment to work collaboratively with a diverse and dynamic community

Experience with data analysis and application of data analytic methods preferred; Knowledge of data management principles to include cleaning and maintenance of data sets.

Experience in a higher education setting, designing and conducting research studies, survey design and ethical research rules, preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Working conditions are in an office environment and university campus setting. Must be able to move across the university campus to conduct day to day business.

While performing this role, the employee will be regularly required to sit, walk, and stand; talk and hear, both in person and by telephone; and use hands repetitively to operate standard office equipment; and occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Frequently communicates with others using approved technological resources; must be able to exchange accurate information through designated systems within a timely manner.

Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery.
