Job DescriptionJob Title Business Unit Department Reports To Purchasing &Production Planner Brock Grain Systems Purchasing/Planning Purchasing& PlanningSupervisor BU Location BU Acceptance Approved By: D ate Approved Vincennes,IN Overall Purpose: Why the Job Exists &What You Will Do: As the Purchasing and Production Planner , you will plan and manage the production components inventory levels to meet production goals, support inventory strategy and customer order timelines. You will also support the purchasing and production needs of non- production departments (i.e. Maintenance and Engineering.) Essential Job Functions & Expected Outcomes: Your Accountabilities in the Role Purchasing and Production Planning: 100% of theJob Orders components by creating purchase orders (for external use) or workorders (for internal use) to meetcurrent and forecast demand and timelines for production. Monitors and manages inventory levels while collaborating with plant leadership to meet production and customer needs,ensuring the inventory counts are accurate through an effective cycle counting process. Liaisons withvendors on specification needs, any errorsin delivered components, or changes to orders foreffective and timelyresolution. Develops cost-saving opportunities by sourcing, qualifying, and addingnew vendors thatcan deliver on value and price. Collaborates and communicates closely with the plantmanager, plant superintendent, and production personnel to facilitate the successful execution of the production plan. Collaborates withCustomer Service on production scheduling issues, where theorder sales schedule may be impacted,to find proactive solutions and meet the customer timelines. Collaborates with Maintenance and Engineering to support department fabrication and purchasing needs. The job criteria may include other duties, responsibilities and activities, whichmay change or be assigned at any item dwith or without notice. Position Requirements: Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Management, or related field;or the equivalent in course work and experience. Experience:3-5 yearsof experience Certification(s): APICS (American Production & Inventory Control Society) certification wouldbe helpful but not required. FunctionalSkills: High detail orientation withsolid math anddata analysis skillsrequired. Strong planning and organization skillsare also required. Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities/deadlines effectively with large amountsof data; conceptual thinker with solidproblem-solving skills is also important. TechnologyAptitude/Skills: Experience with ERP andmaterial planning systemswith Report Writingrequired, knowledge of Oracle is helpfulbut not required. Advanced in Excel. Language Skills:Excellent verbaland written communication required. Quality/compliance oriented to meet the goals of the customerand stay withininventory parameters; data-driven with a strongsense of urgency to meet the needs of the customers and scheduling goalsof the department.
