Position Information

Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care (UBHC), established in 1971, offers a full continuum of evidence based behavioral health and addiction services for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors throughout New Jersey. UBHC's 1,060 experienced behavioral health professionals and support staff are dedicated to treatment, prevention, and education. UBHC, one of the largest providers of behavioral health care in the country, has a budget of $260 million and has 15 sites throughout New Jersey. Services are readily accessible and include: inpatient, outpatient, partial hospitalization, screening, crisis stabilization, family/caregiver support, community outreach and case management, supportive housing, supported employment, prevention and consultation, employee assistance programs, and a licensed therapeutic school from preschool through high school. Specialty services include the New Jersey suicide prevention helpline and peer help lines for police, veterans, active military, teachers, mothers of special needs children and child protective service workers. In FY2016, UBHC treated 16,199 consumers, had 24,502 admissions, and touched the lives of 19,441 individual callers through peer support. In addition, UBHC is the primary mental health training resource for the New Jersey departments of Human Services, Children and Families, and Corrections, delivering 16,000 trainings each year.Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Program Coordinator in Community Based Services - Intensive Recovery Treatment Support (IRTS) for Rutgers University Behavioral Health Care. The primary purpose of the Program Coordinator position is to provide day-to-day clinical and administrative supervision to program staff, monitoring staff to assure that high quality case management services are provided to individuals with criminal justice involvement and a history of opioid abuse.Supervises staff on a daily basis, providing administrative direction, and clinical oversight.Provides staff with direction regarding interventions and recovery supports through individual supervision, group supervision, team meetings, and case conferences.Facilitates assessment and subsequent assignment of referrals.Monitors staff compliance with all assessments and documentation requirements assuring compliance on a consistent basis, as monitored through documentation reports, supervisory tools and chart review.Reviews all program documentation to include assessment, recovery plans and progress notes to ensure quality and timeliness.Meets individually with assigned staff to review performance goals, compliance with mandatory continuing education requirements, monitor productivity and documentation.Participates in weekly team meetings to review cases, communicate supervisory updates, and program developments.Regularly attends and participates in in-service meetings and other designated training events that will enhance clinical skills and maintain best practices.Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

Master's Degree in appropriate mental health discipline plus four (4) years of relevant mental health experience.Certifications/Licenses

All clinical licensing as required by discipline and the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (e.g. Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or a licensed Psychologist).Applicants possessing a degree in Social Work must have an active New Jersey certification/licensure as required by the State Board of Social Work.Must submit to random urine screen when requested.Valid driver's license.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

On call responsibilities as assigned in a 24/7 environment.Preferred Qualifications

One (1) year supervisory experience.Experience with community based service provision to adults with addictions.Bilingual skills (English/Spanish).Special Conditions

Serves assigned shifts, which may include weekend, holiday and/or off-hour shifts.One weekend day required.Must be approved by the Department of Corrections (DOC) and adhere to all DOC requirements. Employees will be subject to and must comply with all security regulations and procedures of NJ Department of Corrections and the assigned facility(ies) including, but not limited to sign in logs or electronic time clocks, searches of person and property, etc. Violations of NJ Department of Corrections and/or being banned by the Department of Corrections to work at a NJ Department of Corrections' facility are grounds for a disciplinary action and potential termination.
