While we build amazing roads and bridges, we also take our marketing work just as seriously. And to keep doing that, we need a Digital Content Strategist to add to our team. Marketers at ESS are self-motivated individuals with a positive attitude who actively contribute to a wide range of marketing-related activities. That's just job-description speak for saying, we need someone who not only has the chops to do the job but the passion to do it right.

The Digital Content Strategist is responsible for translating direction into action ensuring we have the right message on the right platform, working with team members from concept to completion and analyzing performance to ensure we're continuously improving. The Digital Content Strategist reports to the Marketing Manager.

What will I be doing, you may be asking? You will:Develop, implement and manage digital content strategy to enhance brand awareness, drive engagement and support overall business and marketing goalsCraft campaign strategy, develop marketing briefs and own the planning and execution of digital campaigns in collaboration with the larger marketing teamCreate and oversee the development of ownable, quality content across multiple digital platforms including website, social media and email marketing channels (and, at times, be responsible for copywriting and editing)Develop and manage a cross-channel editorial content calendar and schedule content production and distribution to ensure cohesive and consistent messagingEstablish and own social strategy, platforms and content execution ensuring content is engaging, on-strategy and on-brandDefine objectives and KPIs and analyze data to inform optimizations and learnings for future campaignsLead paid digital media projects/effortsCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, creative and media, to align content with overall strategies, launches and initiativesImplement and maintain SEO best practicesStay informed on the latest industry news, platform updates and changes that may impact strategies and content plans providing recommendationsCollaborate with outside agencies on campaigns and special projectsAnd, of course, "other duties as assigned"Now that we've covered the day-to-day, let's talk about what you need to thrive in this role:

You should have a bachelor's in marketing or communications, and three or more years of relative experience.Seems obvious, but you need a demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of an organization, both internally and externally.We need someone who's really good at all the tech required to do this job and proven work experience to back that up.You must know how to create and promote digital content to maximize brand awareness and improve market positioning for the company and its family of brands.You're adept at amplifying a brand's social media presence to reach new audiences, expand our reach and launch new platforms.This role will handle multiple brands and companies, so you need to be able to stretch your strategy across them all while staying true to each brand.But you should also have the ability to grasp emerging trends and adapt appropriately. (We don't stand still around here!)You'll create ad campaigns for various platforms, analyze the performance of our assets and adjust our strategy as necessary.It should go without saying, but we want someone who sweats the details (and triple-checks their work).You should have ample experience with marketing, digital strategy and tactics (and know how to wield that power responsibly yet effectively).We want exceptional skills in strategy and content planning.You should be keen on research! This role will stay up-to-date with emerging digital technologies, and learn about our audience demographics and preferences to help guide our approach.Project management skills are crucial, so you'll need to have a sense of urgency and know how to meet project deadlines (because you don't want to be that person...), all while working independently and as part of a team (I promise we're fun).Bonus skills/experience:

Know a little about the A/E/C industry already? Bonus!Know about civil construction, too? Double bonus!We use Monday.com (project management), Wordpress (website) and Sprout (social media), so it would be fantastic if you already know those tech tools.¿Hablas español? We routinely translate our copy into Spanish. If you can write or QC Spanish content, that would be outstanding!

LocationIt is preferred that this team member work out of our Kansas City, Missouri office. However, other office locations may be considered.

TravelSome travel is required, including overnight stays.
