Job Description
Responsible for overseeing and maintaining the City's cybersecurity plans and for supervising the staff of the Cybersecurity Division. Develops and maintains Laredo's cybersecurity policies and procedures. Manages and oversees all Cybersecurity projects, security products, and services for the City of Laredo.Performs vulnerability scanning and analysis for the City of Laredo, generates cybersecurity assessments, and reviews them with IST director, the IST assistant director, and fellow IST division managers.Develops and reviews the City's Cybersecurity policies to align with relevant industry frameworks.Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff.Makes hiring and termination decisions.Prioritizes assignments and directs work.Develops and oversees employee work schedules and approves time away from work.Provides and facilitates employee training and development.Approves and/or processes employee concerns and problems and counsels or disciplines as appropriate.Completes employee performance appraisals.Determines or makes recommendations regarding new hire salaries and salary changes.Acts as liaison between employees and management.Performs risk assessments and audits to ensure Cybersecurity policies are being adhered to.Coordinates investigations of suspected computer misuse with the appropriate data owners, application owners, and documents results of such investigations.Participates in disaster recovery exercises and reviews business continuity plans, and recommends updates as needed.Will be required to drive a City vehicle for City business use.Performs related work as required.COMPETENCIES FOR SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE OF JOB DUTIES
