Sales and Use Tax Manager

Our growing client in Central Phoenix is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented State and Local Tax Manager to join their Tax team. This position will report to the Director of Tax and will manage both direct and indirect state tax compliance processes. CPA is preferred, and a minimum of 5 years of tax experience in a public accounting or corporate environment is ideal. This person will be joining a growing team of tax accounting professionals and may have direct reports in the future. This position is an in-office role with a base salary up to $130K.Responsibilities:

Manage and supervise the indirect tax reporting process in conjunction with an outside consulting firm, including the timely filing of all returns and remittance of related taxesRespond to all indirect tax notices and inquiries from taxing authoritiesOversee all indirect tax auditsManage appeals of assessed property values with assistance from an outside consulting firmMaintain and reconcile indirect tax general ledger accounts and evaluate account balancesResearch and communicate tax law and regulation changes to internal/external stakeholdersAssist with maintenance of Tax Certificate SoftwareIdentify state job grant incentives with the help of an outside consulting firmCalculate, research, and provide information requested by management and external partiesAssist with other areas as assignedMinimum Qualifications:

5 - 7+ years of relevant sales and use tax experienceBachelor's Degree in accountingHighly organized, driven, and motivatedDetail oriented and analyticalAbility to communicate effectively with team members and leadershipProficiency in MS Office Suite, Blackline, FAS, etc.State and Local Tax KnowledgeExperience with manufacturing, retail, insurance, or mortgage industries a plus
