The Supervisor of Software Engineering - Finance will be responsible for leading and managing a software development team focused on implementing a new suite of insurance software. This position will be part of a dedicated project team. The ideal candidate should possess exceptional leadership qualities and technical background in software engineering, along with a proven track record of delivering high-quality software products. As a Supervisor of Software Engineering, you will be responsible for overseeing the development lifecycle, mentoring team members, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and excellence in software development.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead and mentor a team of Software Engineers, Business Analysts, Quality Assurance, Systems Analysts, and Product Owner by providing direction, feedback, and career development support.Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that promotes knowledge sharing, continuous learning, and professional growth.Set performance expectations, conduct regular performance reviews, and address any performance-related issues.Manage team collaboration with technical and non-technical stakeholders to define project scope, requirements, and timelines.Plan and allocate team resources effectively to ensure timely and successful project delivery.Monitor project progress, identify potential roadblocks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure projects stay on track.Encourage the adoption of new tools and technologies by staying current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in software engineering.Identify areas for process optimization and efficiency gains within the software development lifecycle.Communicate effectively within the team and across cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on goals, priorities, and project status.Provide leadership in the creation of strategic roadmaps focused on business and technology needs.Participate in the evaluation and recommendations on vendor hardware, software and/or services.Align the team's vision and objectives with the organization's needs and goals, while striking a balance between addressing current technological requirements and upholding SECURA's long-term technology vision.QUALIFICATIONS:

ESSENTIAL:

Bachelor's degree in an IT related field or relative work experience.Expert knowledge in application development methodologies, tools, and techniques.Proven success with problem /root cause analysis and resolution with a continuous improvement mindset.Ability to work collaboratively, build a team, and foster positive relationships.Ability to operate within a large implementation project team, moving towards a single goalStrong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop team members to reach their full potential.Proven success leveraging technology to meet business objectives.PREFERRED:

Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a software engineering team.Experience in Finance systems and Digital Payment processes1-2+ years of experience in the P&C Insurance industry.Software development lifecycle, requirements management, and collaboration tool(s) experience.Experience with Duck Creek core product suite.
