The City of Manassas is looking for a Public Affairs Manager who will lead our efforts to connect with our diverse community through clear, impactful, and bilingual (English and Spanish) messaging.

In this role, you'll be at the forefront of shaping the City's image, managing media relations, and crafting innovative strategies that highlight our strengths and opportunities. You'll oversee a talented digital team, coordinate emergency and external communications, and ensure our residents are informed, engaged, and connected.

The hiring range for this position is: $100,942.40 - $138,798.40, DOQ.

Essential Job Functions

Minimum Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field.5+ years of progressively responsible experience in media relations or public communication.

An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position may be considered.

Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus!

Special Requirements

Must have valid Virginia Driver's license.
