If you are seeking a dynamic role with a variety of work, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!Job SummaryAs a Technical Sales Account Manager for Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM), you will be responsible for developing and managing key client relationships, with a focus on promoting and selling technical products and solutions. Your role involves understanding client needs, providing technical expertise, and guiding them through complex sales processes. You will work closely with engineering and product teams to deliver customized solutions that meet customer requirements.Additionally, you will identify new business opportunities, negotiate contracts, and achieve sales targets. A deep knowledge of the OEM industry, strong technical acumen, and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this role.General Duties, and Responsibilities:Customer Account Management

Serve as customer sales point of contact.Oversee completion of quote requests and required requotes, review for competitiveness and company profitability goals.Act as a counterpart to OEM supply base managers.Ensure excellence in customer metrics (Achieving Excellence, etc.).New Business DevelopmentMaintain business with existing and OEM customers.Proactively pursue growth through new OEM customers.Develop and leverage tier 2 relationships for new business.Supplier Relations and Sourcing ManagementContinuously develop a supply base to support customer needs (new supplier evaluation, pricing negotiation, quality support).Review and evaluate tier 2 quotes for competitiveness and profitability.Oversee resourcing efforts where warranted.Data Collection and Sales Data ReviewDevelop and maintain sales forecasts for managed business units, and track for reporting to leadership.Review regular sales reports for progress towards goals and profitability targets.Use metrics to drive continuous improvement efforts.General Advertising/Marketing supportParticipate in trade shows or other marketing events.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field or at least 8 years of technical sales experience.5+ years of experience in technical sales or account management, preferably within the OEM industry.Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and managing key accounts.A strong understanding of OEM processes, products, and industry standards is preferred.Ability to understand and explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Familiarity with the manufacturing process, product lifecycle, and engineering principles.Ability to identify customer needs and provide tailored solutions.Competencies/SkillsAssertive and clear written and oral communication.Willingness to grow and adapt as the needs of the business grow.Detail-oriented, organized, and able to problem solve.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams, including engineering, product development, and customer support.Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.Self-motivated, self-directed, and hardworking.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
