MDI Data Scientist
will be to support research at the
McCourt School of Public Policy
and the School of Health related to Medicaid.MDI is seeking a highly-skilled professional in Data Science to join our dynamic and growing team. This position will be part of the technical team of Health Service researchers and Data Analysts. The Team is seeking to add a Data Scientist to expand our technical and analytical capability supporting research with large claims datasets. Duties include, but are not strictly limited to the following:Collaborate with research team members in designing and implementing studies, analyzing data, and publishing results from research projects.Develop and manage database structuring and data management strategies as required for efficiency and compliance.Assume primary responsibility for writing statistical design, methods, and analysis for research assignments.Develop machine learning models to complement the statistical design.Assume primary responsibility for documentation and archiving of datasets.Contribute to writing statistical methods and results sections of reports and publications.Support publication of research products as well as related projects online on the web and/or other channels.Work InteractionsThe new hire will report to Maria Alva, Assistant Professor in the School of Health.Requirements and QualificationsBachelor's degree in biostatistics, statistics, data science, econometrics or similar quantitative methods field.Minimum 3 years of experience in data analysis using statistical packages, STATA, Excel.Experience with Python, R, SQL and other programming languages - for example, Java.Experience designing and implementing relational databases - for example, Postgres or a similar database management system.Experience with or willingness to learn Tableau.Experience in research protocols, quality assurance, and data privacy practices.Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to communicate with non-technical staff and all members of the project team.Ability to work both independently and in a team.Work Mode DesignationThis position has been designated as
Hybrid 3 days . Please note that work mode designations are regularly reviewed in order to meet the evolving needs of the University. Such review may necessitate a change to a position's mode of work designation.Pay Range:The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:$54,616.00 - $100,493.33.
