Public Utilities Regulatory Analyst I

to join its Cost Analysis team.Under the supervision of the Program and Project Supervisor of the Cost Analysis Section in the ECOSNG Branch, the incumbent performs analysis of utility proposals, examining utility accounting practices and recorded costs, rate setting, service quality, and safety. The incumbent applies standard economic, statistical, and financial theories to make appropriate recommendations on public utility regulatory issues. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for analyzing, reviewing, and making recommendations on financial and accounting issues affecting public utilities and other job-related work as required. Presentation will be required orally and in writing on ideas, research, analysis, findings, and recommendations. The incumbent also supports the Public Advocates Office advocacy at intra-agency and inter-agency conferences, workshops, and public meetings.Working ConditionsThis position requires travel.Positions at the CPUC may be eligible for telework under Government Code 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California, subject to meeting the telework eligibility criteria.
