Automation Engineer

Schedule: M-F 8am-5pm with occasional overtime
Salary: $90,000-$120,000/yr

Responsibilities:

• Implement designs and programming that exceed customer expectations in the fluid process industry.
• Work on system architecture, electrical design, PLC, and HMI programming.
• Involved in projects from concept to completion, including:
  • Meeting with customers to discuss requirements.
  • Implementing requirements in standardized and user-friendly PLC and HMI designs.
  • Commissioning systems in-house and on-site at customer facilities across the US.
• Handle fast paced and challenging projects.
• Grow and expand skills as an individual and as part of a world-class engineering team.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering.
• PLC programming experience (Allen-Bradley PLC5, SLC, Logix; other platforms a plus).
• HMI design experience (Wonderware, FactoryTalk View; other platforms a plus).
• Knowledge of common industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, ControlNet).
• Low-voltage electrical design and layout (UL 508A panel design knowledge a plus).
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.
• Knowledge or adaptability to the fluid process industry.
• Familiar with control panel assembly/wiring, installation, and electrical power distribution equipment.
• Experience with motor controls, relays, metering units, PLCs, VFDs, transformers, chart recorders, and other electrical equipment (AC/DC low and medium-voltage; some high voltage applications up to 480VAC 3 Phase).
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues using a Fluke Meter.
• Strong knowledge of instrumentation, including setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of field equipment.
• Ability to create electrical drawings using AutoCAD, including panel layouts, pneumatic drawings, and electrical schematics
• Knowledge of machinery safety circuits/emergency stop control design and mechanical concepts.
• Knowledge of electrical conduit runs and wire pull design, including cable trays, cable glands, and disconnect cables.
• Assist with field start-up and electrical IO checkout.

• Willingness to travel throughout the US for project startups as needed.
• Willingness and ability to work holidays, weekends, or extended hours as needed for shutdowns.
