Job Title: Quality Engineer

Job Summary: The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring that products meet both internal standards and customer requirements. This involves monitoring processes and products, identifying issues, recommending solutions, and developing quality documentation to support these activities.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

  • Quality Management System Documentation: Lead the creation, development, writing, training, and implementation of quality management system documentation.
  • Contract Requirements: Ensure that contract requirements for customer projects are defined, adhered to throughout production, and completed before shipment.
  • Internal Process Audits: Perform internal process audits to assess the effectiveness of the quality management system.
  • Continuous Improvement Projects: Lead and drive continuous improvement projects, collaborating with key stakeholders to enhance processes.
  • Vendor Management: Conduct audits for new and existing vendors and manage the Approved Vendor List.
  • Training: Assist in training new and existing employees on standard processes and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5+ years of quality experience (2-year or 4-year degree may substitute some experience).
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with weld program quality control and PQR/WPQ/WPS documentation
  • Experience in mechanical drawing and GD&T interpretation and understanding of machining
  • Experience reading and interpreting customer blueprints and specification documentation
    Experience with Department of Defense (DOD) contract requirements
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
  • American Society of Quality (ASQ) Certification(s) – CQA, CQE
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
