Medline has an immediate need for an eCommerce Solution Architect to join and lead a multi-year, multi-national modernization program and ecommerce development team. This program and team are dedicated to transforming Medline’s ecommerce technical capabilities and building a modern cloud-based platform to drive innovation and scale for the future.
As an Architect, you will collaborate with business and IT leaders to align technology initiatives with business strategies. You will influence changes to business models, processes, organizations, and investments by providing a cloud and API-first technology perspective and an analytical approach to decision-making. You will ensure the delivery of high-quality technology solutions across a portfolio of eCommerce products, systems, and services.
Key ResponsibilitiesArchitecture and Design:
- Design scalable, secure, and composable eCommerce architectures using Azure cloud technologies, ensuring alignment with business requirements and technical standards.
System Integration:
- Oversee the integration of eCommerce platforms with other systems, utilizing Azure Integration Services (AIS) and Azure API Management (APIM) to manage data flow, migration, and synchronization, ensuring a seamless user experience.
Security Management:
- Design robust security measures, including encryption, two-factor access controls, and OAuth2, to protect customer data and prevent fraud, ensuring compliance with Medline’s security standards.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, project managers, and business stakeholders, to deliver eCommerce solutions.
- Provide technical leadership, communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, and maintain detailed technical documentation.
Vendor Management:
- Evaluate and lead the selection of third-party vendors and technologies that align with the eCommerce strategy.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, systems engineering, or a related field.
Work Experience
- Experience developing system designs, strategies, evaluations, and roadmaps.
- Experience delivering presentations to senior-level executives and technical audiences.
- Experience with composable software architectures that leverage an API-first approach and microservices.
- Experience with delivering software in the Azure cloud using modern CI/CD processes and delivery capabilities.
- Specific experience with eCommerce platforms (such as ATG, Magento, Shopify, Salesforce Commerce Cloud).
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical staff at all levels of the organization.
- Solid understanding of product management, agile principles, and development methodologies. Capable of supporting agile teams by providing advice and guidance on opportunities, impact, and risks, considering technical and architectural debt.
- Excellent interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation.
- Strong leadership skills.

- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Skilled at influencing, guiding, and facilitating stakeholders and peers in decision-making.
