Business Development Director, Aerospace and Defense

Duties and Responsibilities:
Include but are not limited to:
- Use current Aerospace and Defense contacts to promote A2 services and generate sales .
- Develops new business with target customers by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; solving problems.
- Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations.
- Develop/maintain strong customer relations and a deep understanding of market needs and competitive offerings
- Identify new opportunities in target customers and work within the organization to position A2 solutions to meet / exceed customer needs and competitive offerings.
- Builds, maintains, and shares a sales funnel of prospective opportunities with target customers and demonstrates alignment of sales funnel projects to revenue budgets / targets.
- Compiles and shares on a regular cadence revenue forecast for assigned customers, demonstrating alignment or to revenue / budget targets.
- Builds margin roadmaps for assigned customers to demonstrate the ability to meet margin targets / budgets melding both base business and new opportunities.
- Builds and maintains product roadmaps for assigned customers showing current and planned product deployment with assigned customers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an aptitude for building strong client relationships.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Availability to travel as needed up to 25%
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Aerospace sales with current position in the industry at time of application.
- Ten (10) years of Sales experience is required in the aerospace and/or defense channel, must be currently in a sales role in this sector to be considered.
- Demonstrated successes reflecting the ability to grow the business and make sales.
- Working knowledge and experience with space and engineering support acquisition organizations
- Experience developing capture plans for new business opportunities
- Strong business/technical writing skills (preferred)
- Military DoD or civilian experience acquiring fielding or operating space sensor or ground support systems (Preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to work with senior business and government leaders and to provide leadership within the workplace.
