Join us in lowering the cost of access to space and enabling Blue Origin’s vision of millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth.As the Lead Test Engineer on the BE-3PM rocket engine team, you will be at the forefront of space exploration, leading a small, dedicated team of engineers. Your mission is to ensure the successful verification and testing of our BE-3PM rocket engines, contributing to their development, acceptance, qualification, and flight-readiness. This is a hands-on, lead Individual Contributor (IC) role where your technical expertise, leadership, and passion for innovation will drive the future of spaceflight.Qualifications:

Minimum of a B.S. degree in an engineering field (aerospace, mechanical, or physics desired)5+ years of experience in a rocket or aerospace testing environmentDemonstrated experience leading a multidisciplinary team with a focus on meeting established objectives, determining priorities, and executing on a visionStrong understanding and ability to apply engineering fundamentals including thermodynamics and fluid mechanicsSolid understanding of rocket engine cycles, other rocket engines or propulsion systemsDemonstrated familiarity with data analysis and data based decision makingWorking knowledge of engines components such as turbopumps, combustion chambers, injectors, regulators, check valves, as well as electric, pneumatic and hydraulic valves, actuators and other fluid system componentsAbility to read and interpret engineering standards, technical requirements and drawingsDesire to work in a collaborative, fast paced, and dynamic environmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to travel up to 20% to support maintenance and launch operations as required to our West Texas Launch Site One facility.Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusionMust be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Desired:

A deep curiosity to understand engines at a component and system levelStrong understanding of the non-conformance process within the aerospace industryKnowledge of system engineering practicesProven experience and successful track record managing riskExperience in project planning and resource allocation to ensure successful executionWorking knowledge of instrumentation including pressure transducers, thermocouples and accelerometersWorking knowledge of a variety of rocket propellants including cryogenic propellantsCompensation Range for WA applicants is $111,690.00-$156,366.00.Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the requisition is closed.Inclusivity Statement
