What We Are Looking For

Looking for an experienced Dentist. Responsible for the practice of general dentistry within the standard of care; all matters relating to the operation of an efficient dental unit in delivering quality and cost-effective dental care with a humane approach; and all matters that promote improved dental health for SACHS patients. Must be comfortable with working with a strong pediatric population. Performs other duties as assigned.

Schedule : Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Fridays, 10 hours per day (Alternatively, Wednesday & Friday – 20 hrs per week) |

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DELIVERABLES

Provision of routine and urgent/emergent general dentistry services for patients in accordance with patient’s needs in order to preserve or restore teeth and adequate function.

Must be willing and knowledgeable in treating pediatric patients.

Coordinate the patient’s general health history and status when developing dental treatment plans in collaboration with the patient and/or family.

Perform diagnostic, preventive, periodontal, endodontic, restorative and adjunctive dental procedures in order to maintain oral health. Must be comfortable with working with a strong pediatric population. Prescribe medications in accordance with the patient’s clinical needs and health status.

Provide oversight and direction to the staff and operations of the dental clinic to assure efficient and quality care.

Assist in the orientation and training of new dental staff.

Participate in dental health education programs, to improve the ability to make decisions concerning treatment for their present and future dental conditions and to promote self-care.

Maintain all required CME’s and provide all documentation and references required for the credential process in a timely manner. Assist in the development of dental policies and procedures.

Follow applicable PCHC policies and procedures

Ability to travel between SAC Health’s Norton, and San Bernardino Campus locations.

Must have the ability to consistently work with rotating doctors, residents and interns and have the ability to collaborate, teach, support, and function in a teaching organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Graduate of an accredited dental school with a D.D.S., D.M.D., or equivalent degree.

Licensure/Certification: Certified in BLS and AED and maintain recertification per licensure requirements. License to Practice Dentistry in CA, DEA License. Valid CA Driver’s License.

Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years clinical experience as a staff Dentist. As a requirement of this position you must receive EPIC certification for the module you have been hired into.

Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Sit and for extended periods of time; push, pull and reach, occasionally bend, stoop and stretch. Dexterity of hands for use of dental tools and equipment.

Interpersonal Skills: Ability to guide performance, monitor and evaluate the work of auxiliary dental personnel and students. Must be able to handle sensitive patient cases with dignity and respect.

Essential Mental Abilities: Possess critical mental faculties to analyze complex medical situations, make informed decisions, and adapt to evolving patient needs. This includes strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare dental environment.
