This role will support transactional operations, analytics, and process improvements to preserve crucial functions within Carlyle's finance organization.This role will be a key member of a global distributed Enterprise Process Operations team, working with business users in both DC and other offices, and reporting to the Firm Accounting Product Owner in the London office.This position will lead our Global Payments Processing function and be responsible for financial information/data management. The applicant will help execute our five-year roadmap of change and enhancements to our payments processes including a new global payments processing system. Being able to operate as a product owner for the payments space, with the ability to look at ways to continuously improve it, will be key to career advancement.Experience in requirements gathering, assessment, providing recommendations, and implementing change will be critical. This role will interact with all areas of the business and experience understanding business processes, controls and reporting needs on both the business and corporate accounting side is essential. Position serves as the Financial or Business liaison with GTS personnel and external consultants. The AVP also communicates and works closely with Payment Operations, Corporate Accounting and Fund Management in support of both inbound and outbound integrations.This role will also support the current user security framework within the Ariba Procurement system across the enterprise. Will be responsible for supporting issue resolution in partnership with our IT group to ensure accurate transaction processing and invoice approval all the way through integration with our PeopleSoft AP systems and ultimate payment to our vendors, suppliers, and deal partners. This role will work closely with both IT and our banking partners to ensure timely payment execution. Will also take the lead on migration of banking payment methods as we harmonize all banking relationships onto the SWIFT platform.Background in accounting, Ariba, PeopleSoft and/or SWIFT is helpful. However, the successful candidate will be flexible and adaptable to diverse/dynamic needs and is comfortable learning new processes and systems. Seeking a candidate who works well both independently and with large teams, takes initiative to contribute and improve processes, and is eager to learn and develop.Responsibilities

Work with team to deliver new global payments processing system, including requirements gathering, business process design, security design, and change management.Responsible for troubleshooting payment issues determining root cause, updating systems and processes to prevent recurrence, and educate users in proactively ensuring seamless end to end processing. Work with the business and IT to plan, execute and migrate remaining banking partners onto our SWIFT network payment solutions.Support Ariba Security framework understanding business requirements and supporting related system functionality and design. Additionally, responsible for serving as data steward, ensuring quality of reference and transactional data and serving as the SME for the related data to support system security, integrations and reporting initiatives.Utilize application reporting capabilities to respond to current reporting requirements. Work with finance and accounting leads to plan for future information/reporting needs.Assist GTS and business process team with planning for future application enhancements or functionality and implementing changes to support/training processes and materials.Qualifications

8+ years of relevant professional experience in accounting, and/or ERP systems and financial data management for finance & accounting functions, requiredExperience with Treasury and/or enterprise level ERP systems, PeopleSoft Financials preferredFull ERP project life cycle experience a plusStrong interpersonal and communication skills both written and oralAble to perform analytical tasks with a high level of attention to detailMaintain confidentiality of all sensitive informationExperience in financial services preferredExperience with financial reporting systems a plusExperience with data management, reporting analysis, accounting practices essentialAdvanced data analysis, Excel skills essential, VB and/or SQL skills a plusExperience with and/or technical skills with Appian a plusExperience with providing training support a plusExperience managing and implementing successful projects a plusThe compensation range for this role is specific to Washington, D.C. and takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to the skill sets required/preferred; prior experience and training; licenses and/or certifications. The anticipated base salary range for this role is $150,000 to $170,000.In addition to the base salary, the hired professional will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package spanning retirement benefits, health insurance, life insurance and disability, paid time off, paid holidays, family planning benefits and various wellness programs.
