The GRCDO identifies and responds to these needs by building partnerships with business, government, and other stakeholders to enhance the quality of life, safety, equity, and preservation for the community.Our approach is to build upon the strengths in the targeted areas of Greater Randallstown to engage a wide range of stakeholders and pursue a defined action plan to achieve measurable, visible improvements that advance equity and quality of life.Our recently completed strategic plan identifies 5 key focus areas:Strengthen the Liberty Road commercial corridor and its businesses by connecting businesses to resources, managing the completion of a retail gap analysis and business retention and recruitment plan, managing façade grants and other physical improvements, and serving as an advocate and convener of stakeholders regarding redevelopment opportunities.Create destinations and events that attract businesses, residents, and visitors to the corridor through advocacy for large scale projects and hosting events.Ensure equitable engagement in the corridor through outreach, specific forums, and partnerships with diverse stakeholders.Strengthen community identity through branding and beautification projects by conducting a branding process, implementing signage that enhances sense of place, supporting public art and planting projects, and raising aesthetic standards through an anti-littering campaign and code compliance.Build capacity of the organization to continue growth and increase impact by solidifying operating systems, ensuring compliance with non-profit best practices, establishing a sustainable fundraising plan, and supporting an office location within GRCDO’s target area.As a recently-created 501 c-3 organization, GRCDO has an engaged board that stands ready to support the Executive Director and help our start-up organization make the most impact and establish a sustainable pathway for future growth.ABOUT THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR ROLEWe’re seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Executive Director to lead the Greater Randallstown Community Development Organization (GRCDO). Reporting to the Board of Directors, this full-time, salaried position will oversee the implementation of our strategic plan and the further evolution of our work. The ideal candidate will have a background in community and economic development and experience in creating and implementing successful fundraising plans. Key responsibilities include overseeing daily operations, providing executive direction for program strategies, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and quality assurance, promoting economic growth, fostering stakeholder relationships, and enhancing the quality of life in Greater Randallstown. The Executive Director will work closely with the Board of Directors and community stakeholders to develop and execute initiatives, serve as the main spokesperson, manage fundraising efforts, and address community issues. This role requires strong leadership skills, clear communication, and active community involvement.Work closely with board directors and committees to address issues affecting the GRCDO.Oversee daily operations of the organization, providing executive direction for program strategies and efficiencies, compliance, and quality assurance.Increase awareness of the organization by being the main spokesperson and liaison with local media.Develop an actionable plan and participate in fundraising and managing monthly cash flow.Ensure GRCDO’s compliance with all national, state, and local regulations.Salary range:

You should possess excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to inspire and motivate teams.Strategic Vision and LeadershipDevelop programming and partnerships that work towards increased opportunities for residents and businesses in alignment with our strategic planning goals.Create business plans for achieving goals and objectives in collaboration with the board.Build and lead an effective team of staff and volunteers dedicated to fulfilling the organization’s mission through highly successful programs, community engagement, fundraising development, and accounting.Build and maintain strong, productive relationships with the Board of Directors and attend required meetings.Fundraising and Financial ManagementDevelop and meet annual fundraising goals, in partnership with board of directors, by securing financial support from foundations, corporations, individual donors, and government funding sources.Raise capital funds to advance commercial development goals and initiatives.Manage fiscal compliance with deadlines and other grant application and reporting requirements, and maintain regular communications with the board and funders.Communications, Relationship-Building, and Community OutreachOversee all external communications, including website, marketing collateral, newsletters, and social media.Serve as the face of the organization and participate in external events to increase visibility, credibility, and market brand, and develop strategic partnerships to further increase Greater Randallstown community awareness and expand programs.Build positive relationships and connections between area businesses, the neighborhood, anchor partners, and other stakeholders.Serve as liaison with entities that focus on improving economic development along the Liberty Road Corridor.Advocate for investment, policies, and projects that will advance the community’s commercial development goals by working with business owners, community members, developers, and other stakeholders.Develop community engagement strategies, with a focus on leadership development, across all project areas.Work with community leaders and partners to develop and execute advocacy efforts that support community identified needs.WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORRequired skills and qualifications:Residency:

Must reside in the Greater Baltimore region.Local Knowledge:

Deep understanding and familiarity with Northwest Baltimore County and the Randallstown area.Community Engagement:

Passion for and natural ability at collaboration, networking, leading and building community consensus; Possess existing connections within Baltimore County and the Randallstown community.Government Understanding:

Knowledge of Baltimore County government operations and structures.Communication Skills:

Exceptional business communication skills, both written and verbal.Tech Savviness:

Proficiency with modern technology and software tools.Leadership Skills:

4+ years of strategic leadership experience in private, government, or nonprofit industries with high emotional intelligence, excellent interpersonal skills and ability to inspire and move people with a compelling case, bringing out ideas and fostering collaboration.Strategic Planning:

Proven record in strategic planning, with the ability to align organizational activities with priorities and long-term goals.Mission Orientation:

Strong commitment to the mission and goals of the GRCDO.Board Relations:

Experience collaborating effectively with the board, including an understanding of management styles and the “manage up” philosophy.Financial Oversight:

Demonstrated experience with oversight of organizational finances, including the preparation and management of budgets, analyzing organizational performance, and projecting financial outcomes.Revenue Generation:

Expertise with successful fundraising campaigns, securing grants, or other revenue-generating activities.Data Analytics:

Demonstrated experience in analyzing economic and community data to drive decisions and strategies.Entrepreneurial Spirit:

Willingness and experience in start-up environments; readiness to engage in hands-on, "boots on the ground" work.Economic and Community Development:

Demonstrated experience with community and economic development projects and direct experience establishing relationships with small to large businesses.Preferred skills and qualifications:Education/Training:

Possess an undergraduate degree and at least four years relevant experience in community and/or economic development.Non-Profit Best Practices:

Familiarity with non-profit best practices and organizational development.Grant Writing:

Strongly preferred experience in grant writing and grants management.Community and Commercial Revitalization:

Understanding of and experience with commercial and community revitalization initiatives.Political Acumen:

Working knowledge of local, regional, and state-level political systems, with experience in developing collaborative relationships within these areas.Organizational Leadership:

Experience in managing staff and volunteers effectively, with a focus on team-building and leadership.Public Relations:

Proven success in managing public relations efforts to enhance the organization’s visibility and reputation in the community.
