Post Anesthesia Care Nurse,
also referred to as a PACU Nurse in the recovery room for our post anesthesia care unit (PACU) at St Joseph Medical Center a member of Prime Healthcare. The Post Anesthesia Care Unit Nurse (PACU RN), or Recovery Room Nurse, plays a critical role in a hospital setting by caring for patients as they regain consciousness after surgery or other procedures requiring anesthesia. PACU RNs are essential in ensuring a safe recovery from anesthesia, addressing any complications promptly, and supporting patients through the critical early stages of post-operative care.Bonus Options:
Up to $20,000 ( Paid out as a stipend every 90 days)Shifts Available:

Full Time**If you are a Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in Critical Care, ED, ICU, PACU or had on the job training (OJT) in the PACU you are encouraged to apply!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):closely monitor patients vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and respiration, to detect any complications earlyassess and manage pain levels, administer medications as needed to keep the patient comfortableensure the patient maintains a clear airway and adequate breathing, address any respiratory issues that may arise post-anesthesiacontinuously assess the patients level of consciousness, neurological status, and overall stability as they recover from anesthesiainspect surgical sites, manage drains, and dress wounds as necessary, while observing for signs of infection or other complicationsoffer reassurance and comfort to patients as they wake up, often disoriented, in a calm and soothing environment, keep the patients family informed about their condition and the expected timeline for recoverycommunicate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals regarding the patients status and any concerns that arisedocument all aspects of care provided, including medications administered, patient responses, and any interventions performeddeliver post-operative discharge instructions to outpatients prior to discharge** If you are a licensed RN, we're prepared to provide training to suitable candidates if no experience in Critical Care **Qualifications:Education and Work Experiencecurrent and valid state RN Licensecurrent BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain currentACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain currentPALS (AHA) certificate preferredprevious Critical Care or PACU experience or minimum of one year on the job trainingCritical Care RN (CCRN) preferredBachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred#LI-JJ3
