IFF is seeking innovative, collaborative college students to participate in our 2025 Co-Op or Summer 2025 student intern program at our Health & Biosciences site in Rochester, New York. IFF Co-Ops/interns will have the opportunity to gain hands-on working experience while strengthening their professional skillset.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesLeading engineering projects through investigation, scope, design, and implementation phases to provide safety and capacity improvements.Building data visualization dashboards in plant historian.Providing support to engineers in executing plant trials and production/maintenance troubleshootingComply with all company policies including, but not limited to: Quality, Safety, Food Safety, Environmental, GMPs, Dietary Supplements, and HACCP-HARPCAdhere to all quality systems including ISO 22000 Food Safety, FAMI-QS and NSF Dietary Supplements with an understanding of IFF Corporate Quality policies and procedures.Ability to work safely and comply with all corporate/site EHS guidelines and policiesKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for the Fall or Spring Semester or Summer of 2025.Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Engineering Sciences, Engineering and Applied Sciences, Biology, Microbiology, or related disciplines.Ability to work safely and comply with all corporate/site EHS guidelines and policiesPreferred Skills:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written.Problem solving mindset.Ability to work and complete projects independently, as well as within a team environment.Basic understanding of microbiological concepts and assays.Aseptic technique.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).During this internship you will gain experience in core engineering competencies. Expected development areas include:
Problem solving and critical thinkingData analysis and visualizationProject leadershipProcess Hazard Analysis and Process Safety ManagementCommunicating effectively and interacting with people at different levelsAccepting responsibilitySupporting organizational goals
Working Conditions
Frequent interaction in manufacturing plant environments (prolonged standing, walking, work at heights, temperature extremes, etc.)
Hourly Rate $19.20- $29.70 depending on classification
