Washington Monthly Magazine ranks FIU among the top 20 public universities contributing to the public good.Job SummaryThe Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine is currently seeking an HR Manager of Faculty Affairs to join our team of professionals.Duties Include:Manages the faculty appointment renewal process, and collaborates with Department Chairs, Office of Medical Education, HWCOM Finance and Dean's Office. Provides guidance and solutions regarding changes to current appointments in alignment with HWCOM and university practice and regulations. Ensures internal procedures/timelines are adhered to avoid interruption to paid faculty appointments.Responsible for the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine (HWCOM) faculty appointments and on-boarding process of paid faculty. Ensures faculty offer letters are in compliance with university guidelines, policies, regulations and applicable employment laws.Ensures all clinical/medical licenses, specialty and board certification for all clinical faculty and staff are entered accurately in PantherSoft. Issues reports, conducts analysis and communicates with employees to ensure no clinical/medical license or board certification expires.Conducts compensation analysis for faculty positions. Collaborates with HR leadership team to provide feedback and recommendations.Assists in the development and implementation of projects designed to improve operational procedures and ensure the efficient functioning of faculty affairs matters.Responsible for the development and management of faculty affairs reporting including American Association of Medical Colleges (AAMC), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Conflict of Interest, and any ad hoc reports requested by the Departments and/or university including headcount, administrative titles, etc. required for accreditation purposes and/or internal use.Develops working relationships with HWCOM department contacts, university business units, and administrators to facilitate HR faculty affairs operations.Performs essential duties in emergencies such as hurricanes, storms, and/or any other university emergency closing. Is expected to be available to report to work as needed during university emergency closing with appropriate notification from a department administrator.Performs other related duties as required and deemed appropriate to the accomplishment of the responsibilities and functions of the department.
