The Position
As a
Period End Close Analyst , you will execute general accounting & management accounting operational activities for the Americas RSS in Costa Rica. You will be performing advanced accounting functions, utilizing in-depth knowledge of accounting methods, principles, and practice; as well as conducting analysis and audits of accounting transactions, processes, and interrelationships. Responsibilities Leads complex accounting analysis and auditing, acting as the subject-matter expert for affiliates and a resource for colleagues. Prepares a variety of complex financial and/or cost activities, statements, and reports, including trial balances, balance sheets, financial statements, profit-and-loss statements, and statements of sourcing and application of funds. Prepares journal entries for the general ledger or cost accounting system on a monthly basis, collecting necessary data, analyzing costs, and preparing audit train support. Provides commentary and explanations for report items of interest, conducts investigations of accounts, and recommends actions to management. Ensures compliance with company policies, acceptable accounting practices, and applicable regulations, while also serving as an internal resource for colleagues, assisting in their development and training. Your Profile
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent business experience is a must with a minimum of 4 years of Finance/Accounting experience. Experience working with one or more SAP Modules (i.e. FCC, FI, CO/PA, MM, and FA). Proven knowledge of finance and accounting principles and practices GAAP or IFRS and auditing. Knowledge of Finance Shared Services and operational accounting processes and related technology systems (e.g. SAP, Blackline, etc.). Proficiency in computer applications within a computerized environment, including spreadsheet applications (e.g., Excel), presentation software (e.g., PowerPoint), word processing software (e.g., Word), and collaboration tools (e.g., G-Suite). Demonstrated analytical skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail. Effective written and verbal communication skills, facilitating clear and concise communication. Language: Spanish, advanced English & Portuguese is required. Preferred
Prior experience in Pharmaceutical companies is a plus. Accounting IAS Certification (i.e. CPA, ACCA etc.) preferred. This is a one-year temporary position. Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting. Who we are
