LHH is looking to hire an Accounting Manager to oversee the accounting practices of the organization, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, accurate financial reporting, and adherence to laws and regulations. This is a hybrid role located in downtown Chicago.RESPONSIBILITIES:Manage and mentor the Accountant, including ongoing evaluations and training. Provide backup support across all direct report responsibilities.Monitor and reconcile ticketing and donation transactions. Prepare monthly Tessitura journal entries, reconcile Development Weekly Reports with the general ledger, and maintain year-end audit schedules.Supervise and manage Fixed Asset records, including acquisition, disposal, and depreciation. Prepare reconciliations and audit footnote disclosures.Oversee credit card processing, including bank reconciliations, chargeback investigations, and merchant processing fees. Participate in credit card merchant proposals and contract reviews as needed.Analyze and prepare regulated reports, including sales/use tax, amusement tax returns, and exemption applications. Review these reports in detail on a monthly basis.Assist with the audit process by coordinating and reviewing Development’s contribution receivable/revenue audit letters, preparing related footnote support, and updating audit narratives and questionnaires.Approve journal entries for capturing all deferred and earned revenue, including ticketing, parking, hall rentals, royalties, and program advertising.Prepare monthly journal entries and reconcile receivables/payables related to food services operations.Supervise and update actual and forecasted cash flow activities, including daily deposits and related journal entries.Prepare annual escheat filings, issue unclaimed property letters, and perform reconciliations.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREDBachelor’s degree in Accounting required.5+ years of accounting experience required, with 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.Great Plains is a plus.Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/DisabledPay Details:
