Junior to Mid-level Associate Attorney

The law firm, located in Houston, is seeking a Junior to Mid-level Associate Attorney with a minimum of 2 years of relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience. The ideal candidate will hold a degree in electrical engineering or computer science, possess exceptional academic achievement, and exhibit strong writing and communication skills. The role requires JD and admission to the USPTO.Duties:Conducting patent prosecution in the areas of electrical engineering, computer science, software-related technologies, data science, AI, networking technologies (especially network security), machine learning, artificial intelligence, and hardware security.Drafting and prosecuting patent applications.Conducting legal research and analysis related to patent issues.Providing legal counsel on intellectual property matters.Collaborating with clients and inventors to understand and address their patent needs.Managing and maintaining accurate and up-to-date case files.Requirements:JD from an accredited law school.Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).2+ years of relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience.Degree in electrical engineering or computer science.High level of academic achievement.Solid law firm, engineering, and industry experience.Skills:Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong legal research and analytical skills.Proficiency in patent prosecution.Knowledge of intellectual property law.Ability to collaborate effectively with clients and inventors.Detail-oriented and organized.Preferred Experience:Experience in patent prosecution in electrical engineering or software-related technologies.Experience in data science, AI, or networking technologies, especially network security.Experience in machine learning/artificial intelligence and hardware security.
