Sapient Logic is seeking a talented Data Scientist to join our team in San Diego, CA. As a Data Scientist, you will provide strategic insights through advanced data analysis, machine learning, and predictive modeling. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve problems and drive data-driven decision-making relevant to our national defense customers.
Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines for ingestion, processing, and analysis of large datasets stored in distributed key-value store databases.
Develop and execute complex queries to perform data retrieval tasks from a highly scalable, sorted key-value database environment.
Analyze large datasets to identify patterns, trends, and insights; translate these findings into actionable data-driven decisions.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers and IT specialists, to enhance data collection procedures and improve data scalability and reliability.
Employ advanced statistical and predictive modeling techniques to build, maintain, and improve on existing analytics systems.
Prepare detailed reports and presentations on findings and share insights with stakeholders.
Stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and advancements in distributed databases and data science methodologies.
Contribute to the development of tools and platforms to monitor and analyze data performance and quality.
Participate in the creation of data governance and compliance protocols, particularly regarding data security and privacy in distributed systems.
Required Qualifications:
Master’s or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role, specifically working with distributed key-value store databases like Apache Accumulo.
Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
Proficiency in using SQL and NoSQL databases, with a particular focus on technologies designed for large-scale data handling.
Demonstrable experience with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) and familiarity with data framework ecosystems.
Advanced analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Experience in applying machine learning algorithms and statistical modeling techniques to large, complex datasets.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and communication skills, capable of explaining complex data-related concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Active Secret clearance with the eligibility to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $150,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
