ABOUT THE JOBThe Regional Sales Manager for Southern California will spearhead brand-building efforts by fostering strong relationships with on and off-premise accounts, customers, and distributor representatives. You will collaborate closely with sales teams to deliver clear brand messaging, implement effective strategies, and achieve company goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/THE DAY-TO-DAYStrategic Sales & Distribution: Develop and execute sales and distribution plans for the Southern California market to drive growth, increase category share, and enhance brand visibility.Distributor Management: Maintain and strengthen day-to-day relationships with distributors, ensuring brand and channel priorities are aligned. Regularly conduct business reviews and lead distributor training and development.Field Presence: Spend an average of four days per week in the field, visiting key accounts and working with distributors to maximize brand impact and identify new opportunities.Brand Execution: Lead the implementation of strategic programs for product launches, retail promotions, and brand-building activities. Guide and support distributor execution within the territory.Market Analysis: Maintain thorough knowledge of key accounts and market conditions, using data-driven insights to identify opportunities and allocate resources effectively.Relationship Building: Serve as the primary contact for key on and off-premise accounts, building strong relationships with decision-makers and consulting on strategies that benefit both parties.Event Participation: Represent the brand at trade and consumer events, conducting product presentations and training to increase brand awareness and loyalty.This is not intended to be a comprehensive list of the duties and responsibilities of the position and the duties and responsibilities may change without notice.
AM I THE RIGHT FIT?Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Management, Marketing, or a related field. May substitute equivalent years of work-related experience for education requirements.10+ years of alcohol/beverage industry experience.Proven experience in on and off-premise sales and distributor management.Understanding of brand building in the spirits category, specifically in the broad market channel.Understanding of pricing, profit, and brand economics at the account level.Demonstrated understanding and deployment of long-term branding with short-term sales results.Dynamic Communication & Negotiation: Exceptional ability to build relationships and negotiate effectively, with strong verbal and written communication skills that resonate across all levels of the organization and with external partners.Strategic Analysis: Proficient in analyzing market data and crafting actionable strategies that drive brand growth and market penetration.Brand Passion & Results-Driven: A deep passion for brand-building combined with a relentless drive to achieve results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Presentation Excellence: Skilled in delivering compelling presentations that engage and persuade, enhancing brand visibility and influence.Tech-savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), able to leverage these tools for strategic planning and reporting.Organizational Mastery: Strong analytical, organizational, and planning skills that optimize efficiency and drive successful outcomes.Self-Starter & Team Player: Highly motivated and capable of initiating activities independently while also thriving in a collaborative team setting.Sales & Marketing Expertise: In-depth understanding of marketing strategies, sales techniques, and product promotion, with a keen ability to drive sales through innovative methods.Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of pricing dynamics within the 3 Tier System and the ability to precisely navigate state and federal liquor laws.Flexible & Committed: Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time, including nights and weekends, to ensure brand success and market coverage.
Physical requirements:Standing and walking: working in retail or conducting field sales requires spending a significant amount of time on your feet; this could include standing for long periods or walking for extended periods throughout the day.Lifting and carrying: this role may involve lifting and carrying product samples, promotional materials, or demonstration equipment up to 50 lbs.Driving: a significant amount of time will be spent driving, so sitting for long periods, navigating through traffic, and handling the physical demands of operating a vehicle are required.Physical presentations: must be able to stand, gesture, and maintain a high level of energy and engagement throughout presentations to clients/potential customers.The physical demands described here are representative of those that an employee must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $145,000 - $168,000 per year. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.
