A law firm located in Cranford, NJ, is seeking a highly qualified Patent Attorney to work closely with esteemed clients in drafting and prosecuting electronic and software-related patent applications for cutting-edge technologies. The ideal candidate should have a strong educational background in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or a related science, coupled with expertise in computer systems or machine learning. While 2+ years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution is preferred, candidates must also be admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).Duties:

Collaborate with renowned clients to identify and understand innovative technologies and inventions.Draft and prepare high-quality electronic and software-related patent applications.Prosecute patent applications before the USPTO, including responding to office actions and conducting examiner interviews.Conduct thorough prior art searches and patentability assessments.Provide legal counsel on intellectual property matters, patent portfolio management, and patent strategy.Analyze and evaluate patent infringement and validity issues.Manage and maintain client relationships, ensuring clear and effective communication.Stay updated on emerging technology trends and changes in patent laws and regulations.Requirements:

An undergraduate degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or related science with a strong knowledge of computer systems or machine learning.2-5 years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution is preferred.Admitted to practice before the USPTO.Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Undergraduate degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or related science.Certifications:

Admission to practice before the USPTO.Skills:
