link/button.Job Title: Associate Head Women’s Wrestling Coaching InstructorSummaryThe Associate Head Women’s Wrestling Coaching Instructor collaborates with the Head Men and Women’s Wrestling Coaching Instructor in providing support for the organization of the program and implementation of meet and practice plans. This includes communication with athletes, preparation of facilities, distribution and care of equipment, scouting opponents, and film breakdown. The Associate Head Women’s Wrestling Coaching Instructor will provide support for the players’ academic success and track academic progress as needed. The Associate Head Women’s Wrestling Coaching Instructor facilitates communication with several constituents, which include faculty, academic advisors, assistant deans, and parents. Internally, the Associate Head Women’s Wrestling Coaching Instructor works with the Equipment and Facilities staff, Athletic Trainers, and Assistant ADs when necessary.The Associate Head Women’s Wrestling Coaching Instructor supports the Head Men and Women’s Wrestling Coaching Instructor to provide coaching instruction and administrative support to other coaches and administrative staff while ensuring compliance with all related governing bodies including the NCAA, OAC Conference, and institutional regulations. The Associate Head Women’s Wrestling Coaching Instructor will also have direct responsibilities for the coordination of recruitment of prospective student athletes and supervise graduate assistants and part-time coaches as assigned.Duties and ResponsibilitiesFacilitate practice time to include such responsibilities as implementing drills and meet plans into practices, offering input for meet strategies.Serve as the primary contact for the women’s wrestling program.Implement and lead elements of practices and meets.Assist with the development of strategies for a successful program.Oversee and be responsible for the women’s wrestling budget.Assist with the monitoring of academic progress.Mentor student-athletes regarding proper conduct and decorum.Actively support the Head M&W Wrestling Coaching Instructor’s philosophy.Coordinate the evaluation and recruitment of prospective student-athletes.Advise and lead staff and student athletes in developing official visit itineraries.Assist in the development of community outreach programs.Coordinate all administrative requirements for the team.Work with the Head M&W Wrestling Coaching Instructor to design training programs.Attend rules education sessions and complete necessary compliance forms.Follow proper procedures for purchasing and resource allocation.Supervise graduate assistant and part-time staff.Lead in the coordination of team player tryouts and selection.Attend athletic department meetings.Participate in pre-season and post-season meetings.Develop and provide instructor-led rules training.Represent department and institution positively.Work closely with athletic trainers.Follow all University, Ohio Athletic Conference, and NCAA policies.Meet all deadlines for paperwork.Exhibit enthusiasm towards athletes and respect for the program.Dress appropriately and professionally.Foster school spirit by promoting other sports.Maintain fair and consistent relationships with student athletes.Maintain composure and exemplary conduct.Participate in athletics training and professional development programs.All other duties as assigned by the Head Coaching Instructor.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.Minimum of one (1) year of collegiate coaching experience or two (2) years successful coaching experience.Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain certifications in CPR and AED.Excellent organizational skills; ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work independently.Ability to communicate effectively with diverse constituencies.Must understand and comply with NCAA, Ohio Athletics Conference, and University rules.Interest in understanding and supporting John Carroll’s mission.Preferred QualificationsMaster’s degree from an accredited institution.Two (2) years of collegiate coaching experience or four (4) years successful coaching experience.Demonstrated ability to motivate students positively.Demonstrated ability to plan and organize effectively.Demonstrated ability to provide positive leadership.Successful prior participation in the sport.Normal Work Location, Hours and ConditionsExtensive travel involved. University core business hours are generally 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, but this position will require work outside of normal business hours.Physical RequirementsAbility to demonstrate physical movements of the sport and sufficient mobility to work in an office setting.HoursFull TimeFLSAStarting salary will be $43,888 – $45,000, commensurate with qualifications.
