Purpose:
Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate opening for a Tradesperson in our Bremerton/Silverdale, WA location who will be a key support in performing Corrosion Control, Confined Space, Fire Watch duties, and Rigging services on Naval Vessels.Job Description:
Perform corrosion control and preservation on Naval Vessels in tanks, compartments and hulls utilizing specialized coating applications.Must be able to train others to include Navy personnel in application of corrosion control and preservation on Naval vessels.Must be knowledgeable in rigging of equipment and cabling on Naval vessels.Perform Confined Space Attendant duties to include establishing a communication system with entrants, know potential hazards faced during entry, watch for behavioral effects such as heat exhaustion or disorientation, keep an accurate count and list of names of personnel working in the space.Perform Fire Watch duties. A fire watch must have knowledge of the types of fires and how to control them, must know the alarms and signals associated with the duties of a fire watch.Must be able to work under general supervision and perform standard work that is dependent on the corrosion control, confined space, and fire watch duties.Ability to work from drawings, technical manuals and receive instructions on semi-routine and difficult assignments.Ability to use basic hand tools and machinery to perform the corrosion and coating applications.Ability to perform multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines.Qualifications:
High school education or trade school with 2-4 years of industrial related experience.Desired Qualifications:
Prefer to have knowledge with OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910, 1915, 1923.Prefer to have knowledge with NAVSEA STD Item 009-32, 009-74, SSPC-1.Have or the ability to obtain a passport.Security Requirements:
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance to access military facilities, naval shipyards, private shipyards, and naval installations.Travel Requirements:
Moderate travel required: 50% - 75%.Have a current passport.If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID.Physical Requirements:
