The Child Support Enforcement Services Division (CSED) is currently recruiting for an Accounting Technician 1 to fill a full-time permanent position in our Anchorage office.

What you will be doing:Under the general direction of the supervisor, the incumbent of this position will perform paraprofessional-level accounting work which requires technical knowledge with regard to application of standard accounting procedures and practices in analyzing and interpreting accounts and accounting documents.

Who we are looking for:To be successful in this position, you will need the following core competencies:Experience in computerized accounting,Experience finding discrepancies in payroll, accounts payable and/or receivables,Experience with Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet programs and Microsoft Word or similar word processing programs,Good attendance practices and punctuality,Strong interpersonal skills that enables effectively working in a team,Experience handling confidential and sensitive information,Ability to manage multiple, changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced agency.

One year of clerical work experience maintaining records that included using computer systems and performing basic arithmetic calculations.

Substitutions:Successful completion of a formal vocational education program in accounting or bookkeeping will substitute for the required experience.Post secondary education from an accredited college will substitute for the required experience (3 semester/4 quarter hours equal one month).
