The Town of South Hill is recruiting for a
Director of Finance & Administration . Reporting to the Town Manager, the
Director of Finance & Administration
will direct and supervise the department of 3-4 to include, but not limited to, accounting, billing, collections (including delinquents), budgeting, monthly/annual reporting, payroll, and manage programs/systems, investments, taxes, fixed assets, and required internal/external audits, financial statements and insurance claims, RFP's, and other financial and administration duties as needed. The
Director of Finance & Administration
is responsible for presenting the monthly finance report to Town Council/Mayor of South Hill, and works closely with staff in providing quality services to the community and executing the vision of the Town.The Town's FY24-25 adopted budget of $28 million supports approximately 70 full-time employees across 6 departments: Administration, Code Compliance, Finance, Municipal Services (Fleet, Public Works/Streets, Waste Water Treatment Plant), Parks and Recreation/Facilities, and Police.Education/Experience
Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related degree from an accredited college or university.A minimum of five (5) years of experience in accounting or finance experience in local government (preferred) with supervisory/management experience.Areas of experience must include strong knowledge of budgeting, finance and debt reduction strategies, management skills with impeccable attention to detail, planning, organizational skills, communication skills and must have ability to direct and evaluate the work of subordinates.Prefer knowledge of laws and regulations governing municipal financial practices.Prefer knowledge of Edmunds GovTech Accounting Software Systems.We offer an attractive compensation package to include 100% paid medical and dental coverage, Virginia Retirement Program (VRS), Short-term and Long-term Disability, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, an employee assistance program, and a variety of training and growth opportunities.About the Town of South Hill:We are blessed to work for a great community that values the services we provide.
