Demant has a strong presence in the US market and is looking for outstanding passionate talent committed to the goals and mission of the company.We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled senior-level attorney with 10+ years of experience to join our in-house legal team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in pre-litigation disputes and litigation in varied areas, including commercial, business tort, employment, unfair competition, and privacy litigation. Some experience in bankruptcy law is a plus, but not required. This role requires the candidate to provide practical, timely and proactive advice to senior management and the ability to manage complex legal disputes. The new hire will be part of a successful legal team, reporting to the Head of Legal, US.Responsibilities

Disputes and Litigation Management:

Lead and manage a variety of complex litigation matters, including but not limited to commercial disputes, business torts, employment litigation, unfair competition, and privacy-related matters.Develop and implement litigation strategies, conduct risk assessments, and provide recommendations to senior management.Support the company in dispute claims filed with state and federal agencies.Represent the company in arbitrations, mediations, and negotiations.Oversee and manage external counsel, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality legal representation.Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.

Legal Advisory:

Provide strategic legal advice to internal stakeholders on potential litigation risks and proactive measures to mitigate such risks.Advise on regulatory compliance related to privacy laws, employment laws, and other relevant legal areas.Advise internal stakeholders on the implications of pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.

Policy and Procedure Development:

Assist in developing and updating company policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance and mitigate potential disputes.Conduct training sessions for employees on relevant legal topics, including compliance with privacy laws, employment regulations, and contract enforcement.

Collaboration and Communication:

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, IT, and Compliance, to address legal issues and support business initiatives.Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, providing clear and concise legal advice and updates on litigation matters.Provide other legal advice and counsel as needed.Assume responsibility for other legal projects as needed.

Qualifications

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Active bar membership in good standing.A minimum of 10 years of experience in litigation, with a strong focus on commercial litigation, employment litigation, unfair competition law, business tort litigation, and privacy litigation.Proven track record of successfully managing complex litigation matters from inception to resolution.In-depth knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, including privacy laws and employment regulations.Excellent analytical, negotiation and communication skills.The successful candidate will have a keen ability to provide practical advice and weigh legal risk against business needs and realities.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Must make decisions based on sound judgment and display the highest level of ethical conduct and integrity.Note:
