Job Summary

Prospective employees in this role will work with the Honors College Study Abroad & Study USA Programs to assist with planning and coordination of all program related duties.Be available in advance for meetings, orientations, and recruitment events.Work closely with Honors College Study Abroad & Study USA Program Coordinator to assist in the development, recruitment, and logistics of seven domestic and international educational travel experiences.Ensure all deadlines and guidelines are followed in collaboration with the Office of Education Abroad.Assist in the recruitment, placement, and informing of over 120 Honors College students participating in Honors Study Abroad & Study USA programs, including recruitment on campus and virtual interviews.Maintain constant communication with students via email and phone.Review and verify student payments and application requirements and communicate deadlines to students.Lead informational sessions for programs.Perform general administrative duties.Maximum of 20 hours per week.

Desired Qualifications

Current Florida International University students enrolled during both the 2024 Fall and 2025 Spring semesters and eligible for Federal Work Study.Previous study abroad experience or administrative experience preferred.Honors College student preferred.Must be a self-starter and possess a high level of responsibility and organization.Ability to maintain pleasant working relationships.Effective communication and strong customer service skills.Computer literate and knowledgeable in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel and Word), OneDrive, Outlook, and Zoom.Reliable method of transportation for work schedule, meetings, and/or events.Access to a laptop, email, and smartphone to work as needed.Available for Tuesday team meetings.Ability to work flexible hours as needed, including occasional evenings and weekends.

Who May Apply

Students enrolled at FIU, who have been awarded Federal Work Study (FWS) as part of their Financial Aid Award package.Students must be enrolled with a minimum of six (6) credit hours in a course of study leading to a degree or a Financial Aid eligible certificate, during Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters.Upon credits decreasing, award being canceled, or graduating, FWS employment must end.

Work Schedule

Hours will vary based on class schedule and needs of department.
