Position Title & Classification: Facility Operations Specialist 1

Salary: $4,338 - $6,635 ($4,639 - $7,097 PERS)

We are currently hiring a Facility Operations Specialist at our Oregon School for the Deaf. This is a permanent position represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).

As our Facilities Operations Specialist, you will plan, coordinate, estimate and schedule routine maintenance projects and upgrades for a facility or location through the coordination of in-house and contracted skilled and semi-skilled trades work. This will include managing day-to-day routines of custodial staff and training.

About us:

The Oregon School for the Deaf (OSD), located in Salem, Oregon, provides direct 24-hour educational and residential services to approximately 130 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, kindergarten through age 21. OSD also acts as a resource to the entire state, providing special activities, consultation, and educational services to students, professionals, families, and the public.

What we are looking for:A Bachelors degree in building construction, industrial engineering or related field AND one year of experience planning, scheduling, or coordinating facility system maintenance and construction projects; ORFour years of experience planning, scheduling or coordination facility system maintenance or construction projects.Ability to operate a forklift (training will be offered on site).ASL is not required for our Facility Operations Specialist, though we encourage ASL certification at Level 1 (ASLPI). Staff obtaining certification at Level 2 are eligible for a five percent (5%) bilingual differential.Fingerprinting, Background Check, and Drug Screening:

Applicants will be subject to a finger-print based criminal history check including driving record.Adverse background data may be grounds for immediate disqualification. Conviction of a crime will not automatically preclude an appointment.
