Candidates must follow the instructions in the "To Apply" section.Positions in this class are exempt from the screening and referral requirements of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services - Human Resources Enterprise.Assistant Attorney General – Child Support Services,Burlington Health & Human Services SectionIowa Attorney General Brenna Bird seeks an Assistant Attorney General for the Health and Human Services Section to represent the State of Iowa’s Child Support Services (CSS) in Burlington.Description:If selected for this position, you will appear before the Iowa District Court in the 8th Judicial District in actions to establish, modify or enforce support; review and present to the district court administrative support orders issued by CSS; and furnish legal advice to CSS on a variety of matters. The position will require some in-person court attendance and is based out of the Burlington CSS office, but remote work may be possible. In addition, a successful candidate may be given the option of being housed in a CSS office other than Burlington (such as Davenport, Ottumwa, or Cedar Rapids).Requirements and Preferences:Candidates must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to handle a large caseload. Previous experience with the Iowa Child Support Guidelines or family law cases is preferred. This position requires a license, or the ability to obtain a license, to practice law in Iowa.
