Coordinates various FIU Agroecology Program's farmers and students educational and outreach activities under the guidance of Project Directors of the FIU Agroecology Program. Conducts necessary publicity and recruitment activities, in consultation with various project collaboration organizations. Works with project directors and administrators at FIU, and non-FIU project collaborators in order to organize multiple training workshops and information sessions throughout the year relating to various USDA and other governments farmers assistance programs.Coordinates various FIU Agroecology Program's farmers and students educational and outreach activities, including farm outreach and training activities and students training, under the guidance of Project Directors of the FIU Agroecology Program, for implementing grant-funded farmers' outreach programs in South Florida.Conducts necessary publicity and recruitment activities, in consultation with various project collaboration organizations. Prepares publicity materials, makes preparations at workshops, meetings and open-houses in the area.Coordinates with project directors and administrators at FIU, and non-FIU project collaborators in order to organize multiple training workshops and information sessions throughout the year relating to various USDA and other governments' farmers assistance programs.Conducts regular visits to USDA offices in Florida City and farm facilities in the Redland area and maintains regular contacts with project participants and provides assistance with computers, applications for various government assistance programs, and farm business planning and risk appraisal, with the assistance of project directors and outside experts.Develops and maintains a project website with necessary information to inform project beneficiaries regarding various farming-related issues.Handles project budgets relating to various activities, including travel, workshops, materials, participant compensations, etc.Compiles and analyzes periodic data and indicators relating to the performance of the ongoing programs.Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of office or related experience.Desired Qualifications

Degree in Agricultural Sciences, Environmental Studies or related field.Knowledge of Florida Agriculture.Job Category
