Become an integral part of our journey as we collaboratively Form Our Future Together, setting the stage for a new era in semiconductor excellence.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Owner for several processes/tools in the Probehead line such as solder paste dispensing, component placement tools, vapor degreaser, anneal and reflow ovens. Responsible for the sustaining & improving the process. Designing and executing engineering experiments to either resolve process excursions or to drive process performance improvements Apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) and continuous improvement methodologies to ensure manufacturing processes remain both predictable and capable at the lowest possible operating cost. Recommend strategy in manufacturing to reduce cost, improve cycle time, and increase yield. Engage and lead equipment vendors to improve tool performance and ensure established manufacturing targets for equipment utilization and uptime are met or exceeded. Engage and lead material vendors to ensure proper procurement specifications and incoming quality assurance metrics are established and consistently met for key process direct and indirect materials. Drive the planning and Equipment Facilities requirements to procure, install, qualify manufacturing equipment. Work closely with peers to either utilize existing processes and/or equipment or develop new processes and/or equipment to meet requirements driven by new products and technology roadmaps. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED B.S./ MS degree in MEMS, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or a related Engineering field. 3+ years of progressive experience as Manufacturing Process Engineer, Equipment Engineering, Product Engineer, or related occupations. Experience with advanced electronic or MEMS packaging desired. Experience in any of the following preferred: Surface mount technologies (SMT), thermal reflow, solder paste dispensing, automated component attach, SPI/AOI. Experience in working with the various types of alloys & substrates. Work experience with the development of new process technology and capabilities and successful transfer from pilot to high-volume capability. Experience in equipment procurement, installation (new and existing equipment moves), qualification, and ramp into HVM. Experience in planning existing and new tools facilities and equipment requirements to successfully install and ramp into HVM. Experience in use of Statistical Process Control and Design of Experiments; quality and continuous improvement methodologies such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Root-cause Analysis (RCA), and/or Lean Manufacturing, 5's, 8D, JMP and AutoCAD software's. Strong communication, data analysis, design of experiment (DOE) and statistical process control (SPC) skills are required.The pay range for this role in Livermore, CA is between $90,500 and $118,755. The pay range may differ in other locations. FormFactor maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
