QA Engineer

One of our largest clients is looking for a few Quality Engineers to join their dynamic team of 14+ professionals. These QA engineers will be part of their current project where they are working on building a new structure from the ground up, splitting off from their current database. The QA work will be 50% manual, and 50% automated. The beginning of the project will be heavily focused on the manual side until it is set up, manually validated, and able to be automated. The day-to-day responsibilities involve starting with morning scrums to align on project progress and any potential blockers. This is followed by QA meetings to discuss ongoing tasks and priorities for the coming days. Morning meetings set the priorities for the next few days, ensuring a clear focus on tasks. Throughout the day, troubleshooting issues and providing coverage for assignments are common tasks, often involving collaboration with cross-functional teams. The team operates on a three-week sprint cycle, with deployments scheduled from 9 pm to 12 am every three weeks. Smoke testing is conducted on sprint items, and regression testing occurs on the third Tuesday of each month. The QA team consists of both Automation Engineers and Manual Testers, with one offshore resource dedicated to automation tasks. Required Skills & Experience5+ years of professional experience as an QA Engineer (50% Manual 50% Automation) Proficiency in Java-based Selenium WebDriver for automation testing Competency in SQL and relational databases, including writing select statements and inserting data Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams, communicate clearly, and contribute to a positive team environment. Nice to Have Skills & ExperienceExperience with database integration calls using JDBC. Proficiency in both Windows and Linux environments Analyzing logs, discussing infrastructure, and testing from both end-user and administrative perspectives.
