Assistant Professor - Noninvasive Electrophysiologist/Pediatric Cardiology HospitalistPosition #: 00826740 - Requisition #:34700Job Summary:Pediatric Cardiology Assistant Professor position (full-time, 100% appointment) within the Department of Pediatrics, Section of Cardiology.The Cardiac Progressive Care Unit provides comprehensive care for critical ill children and adults with congenital and acquired heart disease. The unit cares for pre-term infants, neonates with complex disease, all age children, and the adult congenital population. The unit is committed to service excellence and a model of interdisciplinary care.34 total beds.Dedicated pediatric cardiac-specialized nurses.CPCU attendings and vital core of advanced care providers.Active mechanical assist program.Active member and participant in PC3.Extensive opportunities for clinical, translational, and acute care registries.

The Electrophysiology Team currently consists of 4 attending physicians, one advanced practice provider, 3 EP clinical coordinators, and dedicated medical assistant and scheduling staff. These patients are admitted through the CHC emergency department, transferred from outside institutions, direct admissions, and transfers from the CICU.Experience and familiarity with heart disease in patients from neonates to adults with congenital heart disease.Supervision of patient care and progression in partnership with Advanced Practice Providers, pediatric cardiology fellows, pediatric residents, and medical students.Partnership with cardiology nursing leadership and bedside nurses.Develop, implement and promote educational and support resources.Participate in PAC3 multi-institutional database and liaison with like institutions and units.Develop clinical guideline pathways and quality improvement initiatives.EP Inpatient consult serviceOutpatient arrhythmia/device clinicReading ECGs/HoltersCardiac exercise stress testingDepending on the background training, participation in invasive electrophysiology testing/ablation procedures will be considered.8 weeks of service on the Cardiology Step-Down Unit and 4 weeks of General Cardiology consult servivec (the clinical weeks of service and responsibilities are the anticipated clinical effort allocation, but may by adjusted over time to address the needs of the Section or the professional development needs of the faculty member)
